Research Question:
What evidence is there to support that Earth was formed by an explosion that happened in outer space?
Precise Claim:
Evidence shows Earth was formed due to a large explosion in outer space.
Reasons/Blueprint:
Scientists have continued to find evidence to support this theory. There have been math equations to prove this theory; to prove space is expanding.
Draft Thesis Statement:
There are two main theories on how the world was created: Intelligent design and the big bang, however scientific evidence continues to show that the Big Bang is the most promising theory on how our universe came to be.

RJA #9: Evaluation of Sources
Looking at all of my sources, I find that some of the most useful ones include videos I found at Videosurf.com (search documentaries on the big bang theory.) I find this helpful because There are many scientists and astrophysicists talking about it who know a lot about the theory.
Umich.edu is another valuable and useful source. It is a large article written by scientists (with references of many other scientists and relavant books.)
There is a book I am looking at reading call "The Big Bang" by Paul Fleisher that has tons of good information on how they came about the theory of the big bang, and why they feel it is a reliable source of how the world began.
There is a periodical article at http://www.encyclopedia.com/topic/big-bang_theory.aspx that too has reliable sources to use for my paper.
A text in http://ssscott.tripod.com/BigBang.html is useful. There are pictures and diagrams and many sources of information supported by some respected scientists. What I have read appears to be relavant and reliable.
The other resource I found most useful is called All About Science. This article i found at http://www.big-bang-theory.com/ The sources that created this article were all non-fiction books, and documentaries on my subject. The article is not that long, but breaks the theory down by it's main points.
I have many other sources I will be looking at when writing my paper, which you can find in my blog. however, these were the sources i found to be the best.

RJA #8c: Multimedia
I went to videosurf.com and searched "documentary on the big bang theory" and got 87 hits!! there are tons of videos on intelligent design vs. The big bang theory. This will be very useful!! I'm going to make a day to watch these videos. great site! Relavance on a scale of 1-5 would probably be a 5.
RJA #8b: Social Media
Using technorati.com, I found a really neat article. I got there by going to technorati.com, and searched "big bang theory."There were 22 hits (blogs having to do with my subject.) Honestly there were not a whole lot of blogs about the actual big bang. Some had to do with the tv show. Relevance would probably be a 2.5 and a 1-5 scale. I also went to addictomatic and tried many different stratagies. I tried "Big bang theory" Big Bang theory -cbs -episodes -charlie sheen, and I didn't find anything on it.

RJA #8a: Websites
As a search engine, I used fazzle.com. I just simply typed in "big bang theory" and there were 14,800,000 hits. I found a new site I haven't seen for my topic before. it's an article on encarta.msn.com. The site is very helpful, and I will definately use it when writing my paper.
For multi search engines, i used info.com, and typed in Big Bang Theory -cbs -charlie sheen, and I found what I think is a very useful site through pbs.org. I bookmarked this in my delicious account. i also found a video that was rather interesting on youtube. Also using info.com, I came across an open letter to the scientific community. it wasn't too helpful, but there are some fun facts to use for my paper. I still posted it as a bookmark in my delicious account.
I went to the librians internet index to further search for information on my subject. I found a very interesting article I can use about a scientist who has a different theory on how the universe originated. Then I found a really neat webisite (http://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/user/gr/public/bb_home.html) which is about cosmology. there are different links you can click on for different brtanches of cosmology. it will be very useful.
I clicked on complete planet for invisible web search tools. However I really couldnt find any useful infor mation on my subject. With all of thease sites, I always go to science, then to astronomy, then to cosmology, and usually there are sites leading me to my subject, but this internet tool really didn't have much to offer me.

RJA #7c: Field Research Plan
For the field research portion of my project, there are one or possibly two people I am interviewing. One person, who's name I will keep annonomys, is very knowledgable on intelligent design. The other who I am not sure I will be able to get a hold of, is an astrophysist. The first person, i would ask how the world was created in seven days. What were the steps that were taken so told in the bible. What evidence is there to show this theory is believable. Were the seven days a 24-hour period such as our time now, or were they longer days or shorter?
Granted I get ahold of the astrophysist, I would ask him what evidence there is to support the big bang. What kind of scientific evidence keeps showing to continue to prove this theory? How can it be that a rock or an atom, or a cell can show so much about how the earth was formed this way? When was this theory thought up, and how did it come about?
I think i also Might look up different exhibits at the museum to see if there is anything on the Big Bang. If so, i plan to take a visit to the museum to see what information it has to offer to me for my project.

RJA #7b: Internet Research Tool Test
I was assigned to learn about metacca.com. The first thing I did was simply research "Big bang theory" In the "Search" line. The T.v. show always comes up when I search for the Big Bang Theory, so I have to change my search a bit. I went to advanced search and typed ""Big Bang Theory", -cbs -charlie -sheen -tv show +Big +Bang+ theory." When i clicked "search" this time, I had great results for my topic.
key words for this topic are "big" and "bang" i have learned that anytime I am searching for this subject, I always have to use my operators to better guide me to what I am looking for. if I only search "Big Bang Theory" I end up with a lot of sites that have to do with the television show starring Charlie Sheen.
I like this site, because it hits a lot of popular sites that I search at once. (I.e. Google, Yahoo)
I started Exploring Metacca.com, and There is an "Images" button to search. I typed in "Crop circles" and when I hit search, a lot of pictures with crop circles came up.
So then I got curious and exited out of the site and went back into it. I re-typed in "cropcircles" in the search key when it was set to web. Tons of site came up on crop circles. So then without typing anything, I clicked "images" and the images of crop cirlces came up. Then I hit "news" and articles came up, and so on and so forth. There were even videos of weird paranormal activity regarding crop circles.

RJA #7a: Internet Research Tools
When I research, there are very few search engines i use. Ofcoarse I like to use google. Usually I go into the advanced search. I like that there are always a ton of sites brought up about a subject when I search for it. I don't like how sometimes the results sometimes are irrelevant to the subject I'm searching for. I also use yahoo sometimes as well as bing, but they are pretty much the same as google.

The test of any scientific theory is based upon the relationship between its predictions and observations. The Big bang predicts that there should be no object older than 20 billion years and larger than 150 million light years across. Many cosmologists think that nearly 99 percent of the universe is unobservable and made of dark matter. The universe we do see, the stars, galaxies, and literally everything else, only constitutes about 1 or 2 percent of the total amount of matter in the universe.

Cosmology- The theory that the unicerse originated sometime between 10 billion and 20 billion years ago from the cataclysmic explosion of a small volume of matter at extremely high density and temperature.

RJA #3c: Research Question eng 122
What eviedence is there to support the idea that The earth formed by an exposion that happend in space?
What evidence is there to support that greater intelligence created the earth?
Why is there questions that keep both sides valid arguments?
(I feel all of these questions are valid questions for which the assingnment I have been given)

RJA #3b: Research Topic Focus
My research book asked me if there is enough information on my topic to fufill my requirements for the assignment, or if there is too much information. From the different sites I have explored, it seems that this will be the perfect topic. There is scientific information through many sources each giving similar information with some additional information in each site, as well as different sites talking about how the bible says that our world was created by God. Each site presents both sides of the arguement in similar ways, so it to me looks that I will be able to get accurate information and the information I need no matter where I look for my topic. There are a lot of good sources of information, and there is enough on the topic I should be able to easily fufill the requirments of the assignment given.
RJA #3a: Research Topic Exploration
I started researching my topic "The Big Bang Theory" online. I found some interesting sites. I have them bookmarked the sites I found in my delicious account. One of the most interesting things that found while researching my topic was that the cellular componets associated with intelligent deisgn can not have evolved or broken down.
I also was given a good valid argument that if the world was created in seven days, then were humans here with the dinosaurs?
I was reading a book on the internet called "The Big Bang" and read what scientists define as a "theory." In order to have a valid theory, you must be supported by experimental evidence, and it should be able to predict what results of experiments will be. The big bang theory scientists have shows how the stars and plantes were formed. It all started with when we discovered that not everything revolved around earth. So far it is very interesting.
I will add to this post as I further explore my topic.

RJA #2b: Research Topic- ENG 122
I have chosen to make my research topic on "The big bang theory." i have chosen this topic because astronomy theories happen to be an interest of mine. I think it is absolutely facinating how our world came to be what it is. What a mystery! I think it would be interesting to see what I can discover reading and researching what scientists believe to be the birth of our world.
There is very little that I know about this topic. I remember briefly learning about it many years ago. I know that there was some kind of big bang (with two planets or rocks hittingh each other or something.) I know that at first our planet was really hot. I also know that when our planet was born, somehow there was a lot of moisture and rain which cooled the planet. but, as I said, I only briefly studied about this and only remember bits and pieces of a video I watched on it many years ago.
I would like to learn how this thoery came about. I want to know how scientists thought up this idea. Where did the get their information? What evidence do they have to support this theory? I would also like to learn more about it. how did the birth of our world start? how did the planet cool after itr became a planet? I look forward to seeing what I will find out about this incredible theory.

Possible topics:
- Philosophers views on "What is good" (i.e. Aristotle, ect.)
- The Big Bang Theory
- Cats (big and small)
- Computers (how they ended up what they are now from where they started)
I have decided I am going to research "The big bang theory," because I feel it would be the most interesting, and has the largest ability to provide the most information.
